Come Back to the Pain
Sep. 16th, 2007 02:07 pmCurrently listening to the wonderfully off-mainstream Viennese radio station FM4 (see link list). *hugs fast internet connection*
I used to listen to that station A LOT (middle to late '90s; God, I'm old), so, yeah, I'm feeling strangely nostalgic right now. One of my favourite contemporary writers, Chuck Palahniuk (author of Fight Club and Survivor; new book is called Rant - good title, must buy when it comes out in paperback), will be on the programme later today. This is his playlist.
Bauhaus, "Bela Lugosi's Dead"
B 52's, "Dance This Mess Around"
Billy Idol, "Dancing With Myself"
New Order, "Bizarre Love Triangle"
Frankie Goes To Hollywood, "Relax"
Gotan Project, "Diferente"
Nine Inch Nails, "The Frail" [again with the nostalgia, see my new Trent Reznor icon - more on that later]
Radiohead, "Creep"
I am Joe's Complete Lack of Surprise.

And yes, it still has the power to shock: Melbourne Row Over Art 'Porn'.
While Hokusai is often referenced as the 'inventor' of tentacle rape (that's right, there's a Wikipedia entry for that) I would like to point out that in this picture the tentacles are not used as penis stand-ins as they are in sexually explicit anime films. Not my area of expertise, so I'll leave it at that.
Pirates jokes anyone?
